Prayer times don't match my mosque
Mosques use different calculation methods and small adjustments. In the Prayer tab, open Location and calculation to choose the method your mosque uses, the Asr method, and a minute adjustment for each prayer, earlier or later by up to 30 minutes. The times shown and your alerts both follow these settings.
Prayer alerts stopped arriving
iOS keeps about a week of alerts scheduled at a time, and Shuruq tops them up whenever you open it. If alerts stop, open Location and calculation and tap Repair alerts, and check that notifications for Shuruq are allowed in the iOS Settings app.
The Qibla compass seems off
Hold your phone flat and away from metal, magnets and speakers. If the compass asks you to, move the phone in a figure eight to calibrate it. The arrow turns gold when you're facing the Qibla.
Verse First
Verse First shows today's verse before the apps you choose. You choose the apps with Apple's Screen Time picker; Shuruq never sees which apps you use. To stop it, switch Verse First off in Settings, or tap Skip and turn off on the verse screen.
Premium and restoring purchases
Reading the Quran, prayer times, the Qibla and dhikr are free. If you bought Premium on another device, open Settings in Shuruq and tap Restore purchases. Manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple Account's subscription settings; deleting the app does not cancel it.
Moving to a new phone
Your reading stays on your phone, with no account. To bring it with you, open Settings, then Privacy, and tap Export my data; on the new phone, choose Import. Your progress, bookmarks, practice and sky calendar come with it.
Quran text and translation
The Arabic text is the Tanzil Project's Uthmani text, used verbatim. Sources and licences for the text, translation and typeface are listed in Settings under Sources & credits. If you find an error, please tell us through the contact above.
